Antwerp, 20 May 2026 – Lantis and OpenSpace are joining forces to digitally strengthen the delivery of the Oosterweelverbinding project. Through this collaboration, Lantis is taking another important step toward data-driven project management, improved collaboration between all stakeholders, and greater control over quality and progress.
As the client behind one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe, Lantis has chosen to implement OpenSpace at scale, setting a new standard for digital construction site documentation in Belgium.
The Oosterweel project in Antwerp
A complex infrastructure challenge requires realtime insight
The Oosterweelverbinding is a large-scale and highly complex programme spanning multiple years and project phases. With dozens of stakeholders and disciplines involved, transparency and standardized workflows are essential. As an organization, we were looking for a solution to:
-
- Monitor progress more effectively and objectively
- Improve collaboration between stakeholders
- Enable faster decision-making based on up-to-date data
Greater control over progress and collaboration
After an extensive evaluation, we selected OpenSpace because of its ease of use, scalability, and proven impact on large, complex construction projects. The integration with Autodesk Forma also played an important role in this decision.
“OpenSpace gives us continuous insight into project progress in an accessible and user-friendly way. It helps us collaborate more effectively with all stakeholders and make adjustments faster when needed. For a programme of this scale, that is essential.” – Jörgen Sinnecker, Supervisor OWRO, Lantis

A new standard for digital construction site documentation
We are proud that Lantis has chosen OpenSpace as the digital standard for the Oosterweel project. This is not only an important milestone for one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects, but also a powerful step forward in the continued digitalization of the Belgian construction sector.
“Together with Lantis, we are creating a new way of working where realtime insight, transparency, and data-driven decision-making are at the core. On projects of this scale and complexity, that makes an enormous difference in quality, collaboration, and progress. I would like to thank Lantis for their trust, professional collaboration, and the contagious enthusiasm of the entire team. We are incredibly excited to make an impact together.” – Sander Lijbers, Managing Director, OpenSpace
Expected impact of the collaboration
Through this collaboration, Lantis and OpenSpace expect to achieve:
-
- Faster and more objective progress tracking on site
- Improved collaboration between project owners, contractors, and subcontractors
- Standardized and scalable project documentation
- Faster decision-making through realtime insight into construction status
- Broad adoption of digital workflows across the Oosterweel project
