Dalkia UK deploys OpenSpace for more transparency and enhanced quality control across projects

LONDON, April 7th, 2025 – Leading technical and energy services provider Dalkia UK has chosen OpenSpace as its official partner for 360° reality capture, enhancing project visibility and collaboration across all UK operations.

Powered by AI technology, OpenSpace transforms site images into a comprehensive, interactive 360° visual record, providing teams with the insights they need from pre-construction through operations. With virtual project access, teams can resolve issues efficiently, track progress in real time, and streamline projects to completion.

Dalkia provides mechanical and electrical services to a range of clients in the private and public sector across the UK. The Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and Digital team, led by Mark Snell, Technical Director at Dalkia’s Engineering division, started a trial of OpenSpace on selected projects in 2024. The platform’s ease of use, speed of site documentation, and transparency into site progress from anywhere led to rapid adoption. Reality capture is now embedded in daily workflows, supporting remote progress tracking, health and safety inspections, and QA processes.

Project teams also leverage OpenSpace to communicate more efficiently with contractors thanks to 360° visuals, and utilise the as-built to model comparison functionality to simplify coordination and model verification with their design teams. By making these critical processes more visual, teams can make informed decisions faster and ultimately deliver superior outcomes for clients.

Mark Snell, Technical Director Digital – MMC – NZC at Dalkia UK, comments, “Embracing digital innovation is central to how we deliver projects more efficiently and transparently. OpenSpace enables our teams to make informed, data-driven decisions with real-time visual insights, enhancing quality control and collaboration across sites. The ability to track progress remotely, improve coordination with contractors, and streamline reporting is already proving invaluable. We’re looking forward to see how this technology continues to support our teams in delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.”

OpenSpace Account Executive Lewis Campbell comments, “For us it’s always exciting to see how OpenSpace scales with the customer’s needs. The team from Dalkia has been brilliant at testing and validating their use cases during the trial and then initiating the roll-out of the refined process. It’s great to see how they are optimising cross-team collaboration and improving the experience for their clients with OpenSpace and I look forward to working with them on even more projects going forward.”
