Today, we are thrilled to announce that OpenSpace customers have collectively captured more than three billion square feet of construction job site imagery. If that sounds like a lot… well, it is!
Three billion square feet is equal to about 1,097 Empire State Buildings—or the total size of Brooklyn and Manhattan combined. What makes us proud is knowing that our technology is helping so many construction teams build schools, medical centers, and residential projects during a difficult year when many areas have been under lockdown due to the global pandemic. Our customers report that the OpenSpace platform is up to 20 times faster and more complete than manual capture.
Getting such complete and up-to-date documentation without a huge time investment helps construction teams work together remotely. That is why we’ve seen such rapid adoption in 2020. In February of this year, we cleared the 500-million-square-foot mark and in July we cleared the one-billion-square-foot mark. Now, in December, this number has tripled—to three billion in just five months.
Construction sites around the world are using OpenSpace for job site documentation and analysis, with thousands of projects completed or underway in 33 different countries. OpenSpace’s technology has been adopted by a range of industry leaders, including JLL, Lee Kennedy, Suffolk, Tishman Speyer, Swinerton, Capital One, and more.
